Dr. Bernstein of North Shore Cardiac Imaging Family Medical Care is a leading cardiologist on Long Island. Dr. Bernstein is tripled board-certified-Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, and Nuclear Cardiology. He has special interest in echocardiography with particular focus on the management and prevention of hypertension, coronary artery disease, and cardiovascular disease.
Dr. Bernstein is a member of the American Medical Association and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He graduated from the State University of New York at Binghamton and received his medical degree with special distinction for research in cardiovascular medicine from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1995. Dr. Bernstein continued to complete his internal medicine residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York and a Cardiology Fellowship at North Shore – Long Island Jewish Hospital. He was named Chief Fellow in Cardiology and completed his fellowship in 2001.
Dr. Bernstein has received numerous awards for his work in cardiology including the Zelig A. Rosen Award for Outstanding Achievement in Cardiology. He has also authored publications examining the effects of heart rate on the elderly.
