Arterial Doppler

Arterial Doppler ultrasound is a non-invasive, painless procedure that allows your doctor to estimate the blood flow in your arteries and veins. Usually, your doctor will check veins and arteries that supply blood to your arms and legs.

An arterial doppler ultrasound can help diagnose blood clots, damaged or dysfunctional valves, defects in your heart valves, congenital heart disease, low blood circulation, aneurysms, and carotid artery stenosis.

There is no preparation for this test; however, if you are a smoker your doctor may ask you to not smoke for a few hours leading up to your testing.
