Pulse Volume Recording

Pulse volume recording is a non-invasive test that measures arterial blood flow. Blood pressure cuffs are used to measure the blood pressure in the limb they are on. An ultrasound is then used to create a waveform of the blood volume changes in the limb.

Your doctor may suggest this test as a preliminary test when symptoms are vague when confirming a diagnosis, and as a follow up after arterial procedures.
